OBITUARY

Betty Lee Borland Brown, 90, of Bentleyville, died Friday, January 21, 2011 in Southmont of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.

She was born September 9, 1920 in Moundsville, West Virginia, a daughter of Steven and Elizabeth Nesbit Borland.

Mrs. Brown attended the West Bethlehem Township School in Marianna.

On July 4, 1941 in Cumberland, Maryland, she married Joseph L. Brown, Jr., who died June 11, 1974. Together they co-founded and operated Brown's Texaco in Bentleyville.

She also worked at Lang's in Washington and Labels in Belle Vernon.

Mrs. Brown attended the Marianna United Methodist Church and was a member of the Beth Center Senior Citizens in Vestaburg.

Surviving are three children, Thomas J. Brown (Margaret) and Joseph L. Brown (Eva), all of Bentleyville and Peggy Kundsen (Yen) of Texas; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Borland (Elaine) of Baltimore, Maryland; two sisters, Jessie Scatena (the late John) of Fredericktown and Edith Deluge (Dave) of Baltimore, Maryland and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a sister, Jeanette Carsten and a brother, Thomas Borland.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home, Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2011 with the Rev. James Markley, officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bentleyville Public Library, 931 Main Street, Bentleyville, PA 15314.
